Demon Ascendants RPG Preview Guide

INTRODUCTION

Demon Ascendants is a fantasy tabletop RPG where players take the role of a human with a demonic bloodline giving them vicious arcane power. On the outside you still look human but demonic power flows through your veins and the only question is, how will you unleash it?

The bloodline provides the player with demonic abilities connected to their demonic ancestry. Cause fire and destruction with the Infernal bloodline, wield fear, terror and shadows with the Dreadful bloodline or break your enemies mortality with the Fervour bloodline. The bloodline is what gives the player demonic powers but their class is what defines their playstyle. All bloodlines can be combined with any class providing the player with unique demonic abilities to satisfy the needs of their class. Become a ranger of the Spectral bloodline to blur out of sight and have your arrows pierce through multiple targets. A reckless berserker of the Magnetic bloodline to magically pull distant enemies into the reach of your axe. Choose the Dreadful bloodline and play as a sorcerer who can cause fear, manipulate darkness and conjure shadows to grapple your opponents. 

The humans with a demonic bloodline are referred to as demon born throughout the lands but to the real demons they are half breed. Stay in the mortal world to seek treasure, fame and adventures or travel the mysterious demonic realms if you so dare. But tread carefully as monsters hunt the lands in an uncontrolled chaos just waiting for another lost adventurer to feed on.

PREVIEW FOCUS: Character creation and basic combat rules.

This preview guide acts as a demo where players gain access to selected content. The guide assumes you are familiar with TTRPG’s as it will not go into detail on certain aspects. In this guide we focus mostly on character building and combat mechanics. We thought this was the best way for players to both understand what they will be playing.  Players gain access to 4 bloodlines providing them with different demonic powers which can then be combined with any of the game's classes. We have selected 3 classes in this preview guide that can be played with content up to level 3, out of 15 levels total. Down the line we will release a combat focused starting adventure and separate combat scenarios to try out.

THE KICKSTARTER

Demon Ascendants launches on Kickstarter on the 29th August. The goal of this preview guide is to give a taste of what’s to come, such as the game’s art-style, game mechanics, playable bloodlines, classes and lore. This also enables players to be part of the creative process through providing us with feedback and suggestions.
